Weather Policy – Sun Devil Divers

As we all know, Arizona weather can be unpredictable. When training at an outdoor facility like the Mona Plummer Aquatic Center, it's important to be prepared for unexpected conditions. Please understand that weather is beyond the control of our coaches and staff.

When lightning is observed or reported in the area, the pool and deck must be cleared immediately.

According to the Mona Plummer Aquatic Center Lightning Policy:

"In the event lightning is observed or reported, the pool and pool deck will be evacuated immediately. Once the area has been cleared, it will remain closed for 30 minutes after the last observed or reported lightning strike. Patrons may re-enter the pool area only after the 'All-Clear' has been given. Lifeguards and facility management have the final say on evacuations and re-entry."
 

Unless otherwise noted (via direct notification or listed on the team calendar), Sun Devil Divers will always have at least one coach present at the facility, regardless of weather.

It is up to each family to decide whether or not to attend practice when inclement weather is a possibility.

All divers and coaches will move to the lobby area to wait out the delay.

In cases of severe weather requiring a full facility closure, parents will be contacted via text or phone call to pick up their diver. Pickup will occur in the lobby area.

Please note:
There are no refunds or make-up lessons for practices canceled due to weather conditions or other ASU-related facility closures.
